Psychiatric Evaluations

Comprehensive Evaluation by Experienced Psychiatrists

A psychiatric evaluation is the first step in understanding mental health concerns and creating a treatment plan that is clear, accurate, and clinically appropriate. At Collaborative Counseling Center, evaluations are completed by Board Certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrists with extensive training in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions across all age groups.

What the Evaluation Includes

A psychiatric evaluation may involve:

  • Review of current symptoms and concerns
  • Personal and family mental health history
  • Medical and developmental history
  • Discussion of functioning at home, work, or school
  • Review of past treatment or medication trials
  • Identification of environmental or situational factors that may affect mental health

This information allows the psychiatrist to identify specific conditions, determine clinical needs, and form an evidence based treatment plan.

Conditions We Evaluate

Psychiatric evaluations help identify a wide range of mental health concerns, including:

Anxiety

Mood related symptoms

Stress and adjustment concerns

Depression

OCD

Trauma related symptoms

ADHD

Other emotional or behavioral changes

Why a Comprehensive Evaluation Matters

A structured evaluation provides a clear foundation for treatment. It helps prevent misdiagnosis, avoids unnecessary treatment, and ensures that any recommendations are based on a detailed and accurate understanding of symptoms. The evaluation also supports continuity of care by creating a documented clinical record that can guide ongoing treatment.
