Joyce Agatone, LCSW-C has over 25 years of clinical experience in outpatient behavioral health settings, school-based programs, and other community-based services and specializes in the treatment of adolescents, adults, and families. She believes in an individual’s ability to cope with life challenges when provided the support, tools and strategies needed to manage difficult feelings and behaviors. Joyce uses a cognitive behavioral approach (CBT) that is practical, supportive, and person-centered. She works with the individual and family in partnership to help sort out stressors, build meaningful social connections, and develop insight about their needs, relationships, and behaviors. Through a strengths-based lens Joyce utilizes therapeutic techniques to include psychoeducation, family systems, parent coaching, and CBT. Joyce offers compassion, hope and a sense of humor in an honest approach oriented toward progress and change. Joyce is available for in person sessions and teletherapy services through a virtual platform.

What is Social Thinking ®? 

Developing Social Competencies for children in grades 3-5th.

The Social Thinking ® Methodology offers evidence-based strategies that help individual competencies, flexible thinking, and social problem-solving skills. Learners can strengthen conversation skills, social connection, executive functioning, perspective taking, self-regulation, and relationship development while gaining a shared Social Thinking ® Vocabulary that supports success across settings. Across neurotypes, all students benefit from tools that help them think socially as they navigate both academic and social worlds.
